Statewide Flu Alert – Get Vaccinated Today!

calendar marking date to get flu shot with epidermic needle laid on topDid you know our NYS Health Commissioner has announced that the flu is now prevalent statewide?

This means the numbers of confirmed cases are rising, and special protocols are in place to slow the spread of flu. If you haven’t got your flu shot yet, the time is definitely now!p

The flu is a very contagious illness that primarily affects the nose, throat, and lungs. It spreads quickly from one person to another and can become quite serious. The best way to protect you and your family is to give us a call and make an appointment as soon as possible to get vaccinated.

Most insurance plans cover the flu vaccine, but if you have no insurance, no problem. The vaccine is inexpensive, around $25, and we take cash, check, and credit.

The flu vaccine takes about two weeks to be fully effective, so, until then, you are still at risk for getting the flu.

Be sure to:

  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow
  • Don’t hug anyone with the arm you cough in
  • Avoid close contact with infected people
  • Wear a nose and mouth mask wherever there is a risk for exposure
